Chopperman and Ralph,
I thank you both for again taking the time to repeat yourselves to me as I am trying to learn to trust the item. You have knowledge and teaching spirits that are so appreciated by me and the many others on this forum. I am going to enjoy my knife. I will as an FYI let you know the findings of the KaBar rep and maybe why he/she agrees now or disagrees after receiving my new pictures. Time will tell. I told them I would mail them the knife to look at as I feel the manufacturer should be able to know their own. (Even though I know it’s perhaps from diagrams and hopefully new old inventory examples as none of us were issued one new)

Ka-Bar customer service representatives were very nice but several pictures/email interactions even pondering the age of the United Carr snap on the sheath along with the trove of knife photos was their “ historian” not able to determine the year of manufacture. They explained that the current employees did have access or records to any definitive information to make an authenticity or year of manufacture call. They referred me to the Blade Forum whereas I informed them I had already vetted my knife by the members of the premier worldwide forum available!!!
I meant to type that their “historian” did Not have access. I would have thought such a historical knife would have prompted them to have an amazing amount of reference material available. Thank you all again for being that trusted source.
Mike
