Very nice knife
Good looking Kabar.
I believe that yours is a Vietnam era knife.
The pommel cap appears to be pined and not peened. The blade is marked Kabar
and USMC but does not have a place of manufacture. and the sheath is stapled
not riveted.
If I remember correctly, that would indicate Vietnam and not ww2 although
I am not 100% on that.

Certainly many versions. I did read 9 staples and lighter stamps near the handle were ww2 traits, but that is why this forum is so valuable!!!! Facts bear out. Thank you for sharing.

Like I said, I might be wrong.
I'll keep digging.

The how old is my Ka-Bar and the mountain man video directly contradicted each other as the name stamp goes for the year made. Also there was mention of ping and pen (pin) on different size pommels during the war. Let's keep digging. I promise I've not got a predetermined date of manufacture I"m looking to demand the facts come to....but it is interesting and certainly fun to chase the facts. Thank you all for continuing to run the race!!!
Definitely a ww2 knife. Congratulations.
I showed your pictures to someone on another forum who has handled
more of these that you and I combined will ever see. He agrees with you,
Its a late ww2 era piece.
