MA usually indicates that the item is of Australian manufacture. The initials 'MA' are found on the Australian-made Vickers guns. I don't know about other Australian equipment - as I only had an interest in the Vickers when I collected these guns. But I would think that I am probably correct.

MA 1 is a Pattern Mark for Late-1920s - 1953

The unit belongs to my Bro i law . He picked the Bayonet up at a estate auction some time ago ~ a very nice score I feel ~
