Can anyone give me any information on this weapon?
US M3 Imperial fighting knife, This would have been used by airborne paratroopers in WWII. I have a CASE 1943 model of the same one. Very nice one you have there.

US-M3. An early 'blade marked' example made by Imperial. The first production
runs of this knife - which lasted only a month or so - were blade dated as well.
Eventually, all information was stamped onto the crossguards.
There were nine war-time manufacturers of M3's, which were only made
for about a year and a half, ( March 9, 1943 to July 1944 ) production
then switched over to the M4 bayonet. The makers were:
Imperial -- 854,015
Pal -- 121,131
Case -- 300,465
Robeson -- 36,575
Utica -- 656 520
Boker -- 31,300
Aerial (designer) -- 51,784
Kinfolks -- 135,548
Camillus -- 402,909
Total production -- 2,590,247.
Imperial is the most common maker, but the one above
is in very good condition.........
