Greetings Chris,
It is actually "VP," which stands for Victory Plastics. The number "22" on the M7 Bayonet Scabbard is a molding number for internal company quality control checks. Google "Victory Plastics" and you will find various militaria forums threads discussing some of what that company made during WWII (including scabbards for British Spike Bayonets). I believe your M1 Bayonet was Greek used (based on the serial number's location), but yours are in 180 degree orientation to what I have viewed before as being Greek used. Same drill, Google "Greek M1 Bayonet" and you will see what I mean.
Cheers,
Lance
