Hi Mate,
Scabbard is a Vanden Plas (England) No 4 Mk I .
They made 950,000 of them .
Bayonet looks like a Std MkII No 4 , but I cant make out the maker markings .

would you say its ww2 era or later ?

Looks like a 67 on the press stud which is the dispersal code for Singer, produced between 1943-1944. Used by the British in WW2 and various other countries / forces until at least, the latest Afghan war and probably still now.
