U.S Bayonet - your views please?
Article about: Hi guys, spotted this bayonet for sale but only two photo's for now so what do you think? It's up for sale as WW2 U.S Army and in spite of an evenings worth of research I'm none the wiser. I

Looks like a 12" (short version) M1 garand bayonet. Looks good to me, but the bayonet is in tragic shape, no blue-ing. Hopefully it's cheap.

Scabbard may be shortened, but the bayonet is a un- shortened 10". Better pictures would help.
Kind of looks like a Greek re-import.

I absolutely agree. factory made short 10" bayonet. I was looking at two different things and typing. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks for all the imput guys, it is much appreciated. I did ask for more photo's of stamps, dates etc. but only received one of the bayonet out of its scabbard.
My bugbear was that the scabbard itself looks pretty new and seems to have none of the fibrous matting layered within the resin you see on many of the others. It does have the 'flaming bomb' stamp at the the top though.
