Default US knives: What do I have?

Edged weapons are really not my thing, however I do have some. These have been with me for ages, so long that I am unsure to exactly what they are. What I think they are is a pilots knife, and a fighting knife. All comments welcome. The "pilots knife" is marked Camillus NY and the blade is 6", the blade on the other is 6 1/2"

    Kind Regards,

    Andy

Top one is not 'USAAF' - Late 1950's to mid 1960's 'Jet Pilot' knife.
It is the early and very desireable 6" model, which was changed
over to the compact and more common 5" type.

The other is a WWII US Navy 'Mark 2' Fighting/Utility knife by
Robeson - a quality maker. These knives are widely known
    as 'Ka-Bar', another popular maker.........

Thanks for the info people. I bought the fighting knife ages ago to display with a WW2 Marine helmet set I have, and I had forgotten the darned thing was in the case under the flag. (It was on the top display shelf in my defence.)
No idea why I bought the pilots knife though...........

    Thanks again,

    Best Regards,

    Hey Andy,
Nice Robeson. Here is my example, a different style from WWII....USN Robeson Shuredge 20. Nice quality knives IMO. Unfortunately mine had been cleaned by someone, and has some surface pitting to the blade.

That's a fine looking knife Bill, thank you for showing. So the MK1 Robeson had the leather sheath, and the MK2 the composite scabbard, and the earlier MK2's had the "red tab?"
The JPK has no date on the pommel, so it was made before January 1967? (I've been reading up on these!)

    Thanks for the help.

    Kind Regards,

    Andy

USN Mk 1 and Mk 2 knives can be found with either leather or fiber sheaths.
Later knives were equipped with the composite as leather did not stand up
to tropical moisture/humidity - the same reason why leather M6 sheaths
for 'US M3' knives were removed from service.

Knives most commonly seen with the grey plastic sheaths are made by
'Camillus' and 'PAL'. Not sure exactly when red spacers were used
    on Robeson knives.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
