Picked this up today. 1964 Frank and Warren - Type IV Survival Ax / Knife. Sgt. Minen's info written but faded on canvas scabbard. Blade is stamped 1964 near cross guard. Have always loved these & appreciated the quality they were made with. Also picked up a WWII Era one as well. These pieces are timeless and were made to last. The edge on this one is still nicely sharpened. Hope you enjoy.

    Nice pickup.

One of my coworkers gave me the one his father carried in VN. He was
a gunnery sgt. in the USMC.

Here is another Vietnam Type IV from Frank & Warren with a leather sheath I added over Thanksgiving to the two WWII Woodman's Pals. Believe the leather sheath was for helicopter pilots.

I'm not sure about the leather sheath being for helicopter pilots.
Mine has the canvas sheath was carried by a USMC MGySgt who belonged
to a helicopter assault company. He was not a pilot so could be the pilot
had one in a leather sheath.

This is the only picture I have of it. If you need more, I will take some
over the weekend. Mine is in pretty rough shape. It spent 30 years being
poorly stored in a damp basement.
