I´ve been told, that this is the 2nd-pattern soviet paratrooper´s and pilot´s "cord-cutter"-knife.
This knife was fixed on the top of the bag of the back-up chute.
This knife´s also seen with brown grip, fixed with two aluminium rivets and black scabbard, with brown grip and green scabbard and with grey grip and blue scabbard.
There´s also a cord-cutter knife, that isn´t "waisted", but, also with sawteeth, (only on the back !), and shows a screwdriver-tip".
Some collector´s mean, that this is an early-pattern knife.
BTW, I read, that this particular knife is a soviet combat-diver´s knife ...
Anyway, it´s very "handy" and I assume, it´s also "useable" as a close-combat knife ...
Anybody of you guy´s have more information´s, (maybe pic´s of this knife in use ?), regarding this knife ?
I´m looking out for this book and also for books from Hughes, regarding fighting-knive´s.
Thx. for posting the pic !
Cheer´s,
