    Hello all!
I've been getting into US gear of late - its a little bit more available and a lot more affordable than German kit!!
But, I'm on a learning curve so need some guidance and help please?

I have seen this neat 1911 mag pouch for sale - it is 1918 stamped and well used ( just how I like things )

But its been "customized" by someone and I'd just like to know more.... my questions, if any kind soul knows the answers, are -

    1) what is the crossed gun badge fitted to it? ( it's not a button - is it a collar tab? )
    2) what do the stamped S.1.0. marks on it mean?
    3) any ideas on the writing on the back?

These may be dumb to ask but hey, we live & learn
    Thanks in advance, Dan

It is a purpose-made unit equipment marker, specifically intended for such use. These are (or rather, were) occasionally seen on the ‘doughboy’ pack and other bits of web gear, though they were short-lived. Very nice addition to any piece of Great War era webbing!
    Grab it quick!

Can’t work out the S.1.0. designation yet, or the name, but it’s a very nice example.
