Australian Emergency Ration Tin

What input do you guys have on this Australian emergency ration tin? There doesn't seem to be much of info on these and I haven't seen any listings online for one.

It has a hinged lid with the remnants of a cloth seal around the sides; rust and scratches on the top but markings still pretty legible.

I have the same tin with identical printing except it is on a background of olive-green rather than bright tin (except for the inside which is also bright tin). I see these from time to time.
