British Compass TG&Co MKIII

Hi Guys.

I have recently bought this antique compass. It is very cool.
It comes in a wooden box. I do not know if it is original or not.
It is maker marked "TG Co Ltd London" (I think Thomas Glauser), and it is dated from 1943.
The compass works fine, but it is a little bit dirty inside the glass.

I do not know anything about these compasses. Is it possible to clean the inside glass?. How can I do this?.
Has anyone extra information about this interesting piece?.
