Hello,
Came across this today in a jumble shop.
Not a bad price for £5, good condition too.
Think that it is ww2, can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
Jimbo

Hi jimbo,
It is w.w.2 pattern, but dont forget they went right through the fifties and into the seventies on the old 38 patt webbing. We had recruits useing 38 patt, in the seventies, trained soldiers used the 58 patt, for better.
dave,
Hi Jimbo, I think you will actually find it is WW1 issue?
WW2 issue examples have a flat top, while WW1 examples have a curved top.
Of course it lacks the felt covering.
Cheers, Ade.
nice water bottle, I would recommend one of these WWII web pouches to complete the set
A WW11 blue enamel bottle would have a metal ring at the base of the neck for the cord from the cork stopper making it a MK. V11. Although there was some manufacturing differences in the curved tops and seems I agree with Ade that it is a MK.V1 WW1 issue.
