    Hi all

    I have been given this by a family member, we know the owner was in the Army but not his regiment.The camera has film in it and has a brand new roll with it. No markings on camera. It is in a soft leather fur lined soft case with a label inside with crows foot and RH and the stores number.

    Does anyone know when these were issued, I know they strapped small cameras to pigeons but this one is a manual one I have no idea?

    Extraordinary find there. How big is it? Any stamps on the metal parts or date on the film roll?

    No marks on camera, or film its 5cm wide, by 5cm long and 4cm deep

    Its a United Optical Instruments Camera called a Merlin made Circa 1936 and was in 4 different colours and also a component of the Erac pistol camera. I cannot find anything about a military use for it.

    That example is in great condition !

    The 22C stores number on the case would denote an RAF item.
