Mystery British Web carrying case

Article about: Ok .. Another piece of "mystery" British webbing. A carrying case, 38 inches long, 6 inches round, with fitted shoulder strap. Dated RPL 1945. It's too short for, SMLE, Bren, Lewis

    Another piece of "mystery" British webbing.

    A carrying case, 38 inches long, 6 inches round, with fitted shoulder strap.
    Dated RPL 1945.
    It's too short for, SMLE, Bren, Lewis, 3 inch Mortar tube.

    Any Ideas gents ?

    jungle carbine which is the shortened version of a no.4 rifle about the right length and being 1945 the carbine was 1944-47

    this item is associated with WS22 et al. if my memory serves me correct in the handbook it is described as Bags, Aerial, No.2, Mark whatever. it will also have a ZA prefix.
