Your on your way Del!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them
"Don't tell me these are investments if you never intend to sell anything" (Quote: Wife)
Thanks, when it comes on Tuesday I will upload clearer pictures. If you want I can ask the seller for more pics.
Hi, looks good to me, an M-1942 US canteen, the pictures says G.P.&F.Co which is Geuder, Paeschke, Frey Co.
Cheers

Yeah, by the S.M Co I meant the cup
Also, M42? It's an M45!
Hi, there is no such canteen as an M45, there were two used during the second world war the M-1910 which is made of two halves and welded vertically and the M-1942 which are welded horizontally. The 1945 is the date of manufacturer not a model number. Also S.M.Co is Southeastern Metals Co.

I mean that the cup was made by S.M
I understand which is why i also left the manufacture in the last comment which is S.M.Co Southeastern Metals Co., it is not uncommon to have mismatching manufacturers on cups and canteens.
Cheers

Do you think it saw action judging by the dent!
Maybe, however 69 years is a long time for it to get dented by other means, it is more likely to have been issued post war, if i remember correctly there is a 6 month period between being manufactured and arriving to a soldier in Europe.
Cheers
Harry
