Hi.
My guess is that it is very French influenced field gear from the WWI period. The bayonet frog is very French in style as well. So, probably from France or one of its colonies?

Many thanks Al,
Maybe it is french, but the shoulder straps don't look wide enough to me, and I cant find any images/reference with the correct looking pouches. and would they have had a blanket on the reverse??
Thanks Again

It does look similar to the British 1914 Pattern Webbing. There appear to be some differences though. What does the buckle on the belt look like?

Re: Please can anyone help id this webbing
It puts me in mind of some of the Spanish Civil War leather webbing I've seen but may have been for an officer judging by the pistol holster. Although as you can see the pouches tended to be a little bulkier than your pouches, the buckle does look similar in design. Anyway, just a guess.
Here are some reproductions I found advertised on a 'Living History' site. Cheers,
Ian.

I also thought Spanish when I saw the buckle. The fastening style reminds me of one with an eagle on it that I have.

I'm guessing Spanish Civil War which is post WW1 between 1936 to 1939, but it is only a guess. I wouldn't have a clue about the bedroll though, and I can just as easily see why folk think there is a French influence there.
It's just that the buckle looks a little Spanish to me and a lot of Briton's fought in the International Brigades in Spain and brought stuff back with them.
