G'day all,
A Mate of mine has this cylindrical container, can anyone please identify it?
For optics of some form? Vehicle or artillery mounted?
Cheers in advance.

I had one like this some years and it was for a sniper scope so yours could be for one also ?
Cheers Kradman I'll pass it on the my mate. I checked my reference and couldn't find one.
Interesting ,
I just saw it , will get back to ya
Cheers Rick
It's most likely for a sight from either an Artillery piece or an armoured vehicle.
I have the 75mm gunsight for a Churchill/Cromwell tank, and it’s 44cm long in all, so far too large. I’ve also got a 6-Pounder anti-tank gunsight, and that’s a lot shorter, but at 34cm is still too long for this pouch.
Is it possible this pouch could have been used for storing rolled maps in a field headquarters? That would explain the lack of buckles or belt loops.
B.B.
Hey Rene, It is missing the shoulder strap but Kradman is correct it is a late war Australian sniper scope pouch.
Pic from the net for reference, it's on the far left.
Cheers Mate I'll let my mate know, cheers for the ref shot too.
No worries mate, judging from the background I think I know who our mate is and if so tell Mr P I said hi!
