    Hi,
I received some US (?) items and cannot assign them.
Including a map case, made of canvas.
    Is this an American one?
    I couldn't find any stamps.

There were also a few other, probably military, among the stuff.
Could you perhaps tell me which bags these are?

There were also two glasses which, in my opinion, are also military.

I would be happy to receive answers from you.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ro

Yes, your guess is correct. A U.S. M1936 map case, in the mid- to later-war O.G. colour, though with a modification; the original shoulder strap has been removed and the small, handgrip riveted on in its place.

    Nice!

    Hi there.

It kind of looks like this -

The olive drab map case is “USMC” marked and it bears a painted unit mark on the reverse side. Interior stamped “Lite Mfg Co 1944”. The interior has a pencil, map pins, a metal map distance frame, and a celluloid grid overlay that has broken.

Maybe your example has been modified by removing the carry strap, then a 'carry handle' attached using rivets.

    Kind regards,

    Will.

    Here's a canteen cover and a pouch that I don't know.
Is the pouch for a first aid kit?

I would be interested in the period of use.

    Thx. in advance.

The pouch is an American m1956 (m56) first aid/compass pouch as used during the Vietnam war. From what I have seen they were normally attached to the suspenders.

A few more pouches, probably of more recent use?
What are the three small plastic pouches and the canvas pouch for?

Please excuse my questions, but I am more familiar with bayonets and combat knives and less with US equipment, which I am also marginally interested in.

    Thx. in advance.

Is it possible that glasses like this, which were manufactured in 1974, were still used in NAM ?

The original model for these glasses should then probably be the M44 ?

The Alice type suspension clips date your pouches towards Vietnam era as they came in after WW2.

A Korean Era lensatic compass doesn't really fit into the pouch...
