not looking Army
would you be able to give some reasons why? Thank you
Take a look inside at the bottom of the sole. There may be
some info stamped there.........
Regards,
Steve.
They look to have possibly been cut down from a higher style of lace up boot. Even so, this style was a commonly seen work shoe. Probably, as you said, patterned after the military boots of the day, but if they were actual military, I would expect to see stampings somewhere that would indicate this.

I looked the boots over again but was not able to find any ink stamps or other markings indicating military manufacture. However, the bottom has the "light tread" stamp which I have seen on other army boots before. What's left of the tread and the pattern of the brass nails also resembles that of M43 boots I have seen before.
it was always low quarters or jump boots
