Any ideas on the date/era of this M1936 pistol belt? The cotton belt is a darker Olive drab than the photo suggests. I would say OD7 colour (or color).

The metal parts are not alloy, and seem more blackened copper than brass. Again the photo doesn't really accurately record the shade of colour.

It doesn't appear to have ever had a stamped mark. Thanks in advance.

Early WW2 Mate. All the clues are in the buckles and adjustment keeper.

That's interesting Rene. Are unmarked belts common and when was the OD colour version introduced?

OD7 belts in the wwii configuration were made clear into the 1950’s. Like Rene said, the US transitioned to this color in 1943. It is still very possible to find OD3 field gear dated later than 43 due to factories using up thier old stock.

Unless the belt is in mint condition, it is pretty common for markings to have worn off with use, especially on the darker OD7 gear. If the belt is indeed in mint condition, it could POSSIBLY be marine corp contract, as a majority of marine gear lacks any markings whatsoever
