OK guys, I need some help please?

I got these M-1936 US equipment suspenders dated 1943 and they have a soldier's name and service number inked on them.

What I have been able to find online so far is that ASN 33582681 Vincent T De Rogatis was born in 1923, enlisted in Philly PA on Feb 6th, 1943 and in civilian life was single and a shipping clerk. From an online obituary, he died in February 2006 ( at 84 ) also in Philadelphia.

Is that all there is to be found? Is there a way to trace what unit /s he may have served in?

If anyone can help I'd be appreciative.
    Cheers, Dan

In my experience, that’s about all you can hope for, I’m afraid, Dan..
Unless he was such a proud veteran that he had his unit engraved on his headstone, it’s pretty much a dead end at the point you have already reached.
Flippin’ annoying, but maybe one of the other chaps can be a little more upbeat about it!
    Fingers crossed,
    Rob

Glad to help. Thought there might be a medical card for him if wounded, but not found one yet.

Is this something I could search, or are you looking at a paid/subscribed database? If the latter, an even bigger thank you!

    Both were found on Ancestry.

I think Fold3 has US casualty/hospitalisation records but I'm not subscribed to it at the moment. Others may be able to look for you.

He isn't listed among the US Army hospitalisation cards on Ancestry, so I doubt fold3 will have much more.
