    This is post-war but the canteen does not look US to me never seen one like this.

    That's not a US canteen.

    Looks like the canteen is german or swiss, the cover to the canteen is US made during the 60s and worn in Vietnam

    The cover is the M-1956 type.The bottle isn't US...not sure which country.
