usa dogtags

i have seen some dogtags for sale on e bay supposedly used by the american forces during the vietnam war.1 lot from usa is sold with a chain included and are from the usmc and us army.
the others are being sold from vietnam without chain and seem authentic.is there any way you can check if they are genuine or not?

you could try putting the names through this site NARA - AAD - Main Page but this doesn't always work tracking US armed forces names is not an easy task.
