Default WW2 US Dog Tag Question

Hi everyone, I have a question on this WW2 US Dog Tag issued to 38384692 Private Abbie Foreman. Enlistment records show he enlisted in December 1942. His tag however has a tetanus shot date of 1944 and shows his next of kin details. I have read that next of kin info was removed in July 1943 so was wondering why it was on this tag with a tetanus shot date of 44? Have I misunderstood something? Many thanks for your help.

Must be one that missed the memo.

More likely given his ethnicity he may have received a late tetanus jab when he entered a combat zone. Not all negro service personnel even got that much.

Thanks for the info! That makes sense - an earlier tag that was stamped with the tetanus shot date when he got it later in 1944.
