    Still called an M1923 Pistol Ammo pouch, but this is the type with the sliders used for the M1956 (and later ALICE-) belt. It was used from 1956 till whenever the M1911A1 was phased out I guess, so Vietnam-era and later.

    Nice,note the British-style buckle also used on the P37 belts. Mine has the regular type buckle.

    Thanks. Found it while searching for my U.S. 2 snap barrel covers for the 1903 Springfield. Did not find them. Rich A. in Pa.

    A great thread! This must be one of my favourite bit of US kit; a Model-1917 dismounted cartridge belt made by Mills in Sept. 1918 with M1941(?) suspenders. These looked great on my USMC mannequin many years ago. The belt markings are a little faded but considering its now almost 105 years old and still serviceable is an absolute testament to how well these things were made!
