    Daz,

    It's Erkennungsmarke (singular).
Belonged to a member of Reserve Flieger Ersatz Bataillon VII. The unit was formed in the autumn of 1942 in Grosselfingen Wurttemberg, Wehrkreis VII - hence the Roman numerals on the tag.
Up until April 1944 the CO of the battalion was an Oberst Wolfgang Weese. He retired from active military service at the end of April '44.

Flieger Ersatz Bataillon VII was likely involved in Operation Wacht am Rhein. Incidentally on May 4th 1945 5 Germans were killed in fighting around Möthlitz. Among them were two 20-year conscripts with EKM marked as Flieger Ersatz Reserve Bataillons VII, who most likely belonged to Division Schill. These soldiers are still buried in the cemetery in Möthlitzer.

    Hope this helps!

The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

    1st July 1916

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
