Hello,
i bought few days before this Erkennungsmarken, i hope it's not a mistake .
Somethings is writing in back but very not easy to read.

Not seen the font being used before for the 1st Kompanie. However, the wear to the holes appears original and not contrived. It looks like a name on the back, which is normally only seen on some casualty examples.

thank you for you answer. Yes you have right for the back, for sure i can read a name "Georg" after or last name its more difficult and down i thinks its city ...
When i will be sure about what i read i will let you know .

It is unusual to put a complete name on this, the top part of an erkennungsmarke - as the top part would be left with the casualty in the event if his death. If the name can be deciphered it offers the slim possibility of seeing if he was a casualty, or if not then perhaps this was written when he was a prisoner?

But first, has anyone seen this typeface used with this unit before?

I like the brand. The lettering is consistent.
as befits this unit, the company number was subsequently stamped. what material is the ID? Aluminum?
