    I believe it may be an early postwar tag for German Naval Personnel employed by the Allies to clear the coastal shipping lanes of Sea-Mines and other Ordnance Disposal tasks...Minesweeper 122...These men were technically POWs...

    This is a last minute EKM for a last minute unit at the end of the war. It is 3. Kompanie, Marine Schützen Bataillon 122. This Bataillon was raised in March 1945 at Pillau for the Festung Pillau. The unit was placed under the 95. Infanterie Division.

    Yes! This is a Marine Battalion tag! Nice find, is it aluminum?

    Unlikely to have worn two different erkennungsmarken. These are post capitulation issue.
