For me I would question the apparent marks to the face, has it been gripped in a vice or pliers? The oversize bottom hole is strange. Has it come from a reliable source?
No, unfortunately I would not call the source verified.
The bottom hole also haunts me. BUT I have already seen this on a token from a very reliable source.
The marks on the obverse are strange.
There are no such traces on the reverse side. So it’s not a vise or a pair of pliers.
I once saw similar traces on the token.
Here is a photo (not mine)
Could it not be that a nail has been driven through to fix it to something?
This ekm of mine also has strange holes. It is a original, but it looks very strange. The kriegsmarine EKM the alumium looks to me very new.
You mean the hole in the KM tag?
Maybe a drill. Unfortunately, I do not know.
BUT I have at least 3 other examples with big bottom holes. I showed them here.
Did the tag owners do this? If so, why? I wonder ...
Well, BlackCat1982 expressed doubts.
Do we consider this tag to be original?
Yeah maybe that hole is from a drill in that Kriegsmarine Ekm.But I'm just brainstorming a little.I don't know either. And I don't know if we'll ever get an answer.
