Welcome to the forum. The primary marking is 'Stammkompanie Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 46' (Root Company, Grenadier Replacement Batallion 46), a regular infantry unit- the X is an odd addition though; the unit was located in Wehrkreis X, so perhaps that's it- I can find no other obvious reason for it, and it's not something I've seen before on this type of disc. The '61' is the soldier's Stammrollennummer (roster number)

Thank you for the welcome this forum is very interesting. I was just trying to get any type of information on this ID tag. As I said I found it
hunting in the woods in Luxembourg in the vicinaty of Welscheid. Too bad can't track to who roster number was.
There's a 'sticky' thread above with a link to the Lexikon der Wehrmacht site that'll have the specific unit information- it's in Infanterie though since that's the original type title just changed to Grendier in 1942.
