Actually it is also important to mention that relations between Estonians and Germans were not good at all before WWII. During Independance war 1918-1920 Estonians fought with Soviets and also with Germans. Germans took Estonia already in 13-th century so most of Estonians were for sure not "nazis" or supported Third Reich before 1940. But after 1 year Soviet occupation (1940-1941) all changed, Germans were greated as liberators from Soviet terror regime and many Estonians joined German army. During this 1 year Soviets murdered and deported to Siberia thousands of Estonians so no wonder only a few wanted to fight for USSR and Stalin. So history is not onlt black and white - "good" guys against "bad nazis."
