I am not experienced enough with these but I would be very, very surprised if an original would end up on Ebay.
I'd be keen to know the size.
3 on the stamp... Does it fit the parameters for that size? Also stamped '4' often large separate digits also indicated size - but clearly not here. Could be a batch number.
Is it just me or is the last numeral of the year concealing something? I'd approach this one with extreme caution.
Yes, the huge 0 in the year 1940 looks odd. I didn't see this before and it makes me wonder if it is to cover up another date.
These uniforms are super rare, especially will all insignia attached. This demands extreme caution, especially when offered on ebay.
Most probably, one of the earliest made repro. The U.S. ebay is full of these, they all came from the same 2 or 3 sellers. In my opinion the marking is a clear fake.
Zarya was the name of hat producer in Vladivostok, it's common on 1980s visor hats. It's not impossible that an artel with the same name existed back in the years, but the coincidence is funny.
If you want an honest advice: just stay away from this "thing". I'm sure the price asked is also 4 or 5 times less than it's real value...
Thanks Gabriele!
The date stamp ‘194-convenient smudge’ is always an alarm warning..
This one actually looks more like 1960-something.
Also, and I could easily be wrong here, I thought double collar hooks were for winter weight cloth only.
Thanks for all the responses. No one mentioned if the cloth used was correct for 1940's. Any thoughts on that?
From the close up picture of the stamp, I think the cloth could be period.
At the very least, made in the same factory, with the same materials by the same people after the war!
This could well be two good recent-post war Gyms modified to make an M35.
Something about the underside of collar isn't quite right to me either.
