M42 wintercoat mannequin

Article about: I finally had some time to occupy myself again with my mannequins and this one is my latest creation. It displays a frontline soldier in the M42 wintercoat (Bouchlat if I am correct?). Both

Nice coat. What period of years were these jackets issued? Started in 1935 and went into the 1960's? I have an M35 example in my collection that has brass buttons dated 59 and 62. The jacket has loops and buttons for shoulder boards.

I believe the M35 itself was suspended for the M42, then production of the M35 resumed at some point post war (with factory applied epaulette loops).

What pattern does the lining of yours have Docholl?

The vast majority I've seen have a zig-zag pattern but i've seen post war ones with straight quilting too (like a telogreika) I'd be interested to know what year the change was made.

...and here is mine. I believe that the date stamp is 1962. However the stamping where the 6 would be is gone.

Looks like the straight sewn quilting is a later feature.

Here's my 1942 pattern one. It has zigzag lining which I can't photo because like 90% of my collection, this too is in storage.
