1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, L/54 marked

I recently picked up this nice TR produced '14 EK2. It is stamped L/54 for the maker Schauerte & Höhfeld.

I compared it to two other similar crosses that I own, both are Friedrich Linden (I think). It is surprising how similar they are in appearance, core wise. In fact, I thought that the 1813 on one of the "lindens" was the same as the S&H. The frame of the S&H is slightly bigger than the other two.

Whether or not it is in fact the same core I do not know but I like them all the same.

That's a nice addition to your collection.
The L/54 cores and those of Linden are virtually identical. On the examples
that I have in my files there are only very very subtle differences. The most
notable difference that I noticed was in the thickness of the 4 in the date and that
is not a huge difference. Also , I don't have enough representative examples
to say for sure that this holds true in all cases.

Jamie, another beauty to behold. The 3 look superb together. I will look closer at them when back on my PC to appreciate them more.
