    It looks like parts to a Prussian Model 1895 enlisted mans
    helmet. Nice find.

    I would not clean it any more, especially the front plate.
    You will remove what is left of the original guilding that was on it.

    The front plate was clean by warm water, soap and brush The eagle was stuck in sand and clay. It was found near town Tannenberg (Grunwald in Poland now)
