    I've found this nice looking EK1.

    It's a one piece and the paint pattern looks very much like Schickle.

    The hardware, the hinge I think is Schickle, it's just the catch that I'm wondering about as it is slightly different.

    I'd appreciate your help as if it's a 'good' un' then I'll buy.

    Jamie,
    As far as I can tell, it is a Schickle. I don't have real good references but I don't
    think that the "C" catch is any kind of problem.

    Are there not crosses by Deumer with this style of hinge?

    Yes,
    Deumer used a very similar hinge however they had a completely different core design.
    This is one of mine.. Silver plate over Tombac. It's real common to find these with the
    silver plate missing on the beading and the Tombac showing through.
