    Hello all,

This is haube that I picked up a little while ago very cheap. It’s in great condition but is unfortunately missing it’s liner which I accepted due to the overall condition of the helmet. Fitted with grey steel fittings ( feldgrau on the spike etc - a bit of mixed lot??) it is missing the front visor trim which, as I have read, was in response to wartime austerity measures. The chinstrap, note sure of originality...... Appears to have a Corp/depot marking stamped in the rear visor!? Would appreciate any further information.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Amazing condition for its' age. I bet it displays nicely in your war room.

It's always nice to see a pickelhaube posted, they're probably my favorite piece of headgear from WW1 and as real steel said it's in really great shape for being a 100+ years old. The condition of the outside more than makes up for the missing liner and its not like they're seen when the helmet is displayed. Can't give a definitive answer about the chinstrap but the crazing and wear is a good sign.

That is a very nice looking Felt haube. The condition trumps the missing liner in my opinion.
    Great pick Up!!
