    Hello
As I love looking at imperial stuff I thought I would share a couple of my steel buckles with maker marked tabs, both 1917.

I do have more steel buckles than brass and although the brass buckles are very nice I do seem to have a strange fascination with the worn patina steel variety.
    Maybe it's just me.
My humble collection at the bottom.

    Comments welcome, good or bad.

    Happy holidays from New Zealand.

    Cheers
    Corey

    Wonderful buckles.

Since you seem to collect these. Could I ask. If I wanted a buckle worn by a Baden soldat,
Would it be the same as these Imperial one?

And Happy New Years to you Corey!!

Baden wore the "standard Prussian" type buckle - 1915 to 1918 it would be the paint field grey type as pictured in the first photos on this page. Pre 1915 it would be the brass and silver type. The motto is "Gott Mit Uns", many buckles look the same with only different mottos.
