I posted a few days ago my knew unmarked EK1 by C.F. Zimmermann of Pforzheim and promised a little group shot with my 2nd class.
The 2nd class is a slim frame example with 'Blued' sheet steel core giving a very high detailed and smooth finish.
I like the contrast between the two, one still shinny with a hint of frosting and the other with a lovely aged patina.

Hope you like them as much as I do.

    Very nice Zimmerman family.
Most often when I encounter blued core crosses, they are in pretty rough
shape. But when you come across one that still has it's dull luster, they
    are beautiful.

    Nicely done , Ken

I picked this one up because it has a core variation that I did not associate with
this maker. another one for the files----

    Thanks, Ken.
I though so also. It's a maker I did not have in my collection and a core
variation I did not have saved in my files.

A few weeks ago I decided that my three uncased EK1's needed a better home than just the little plastic medal sleeve I'd left them in.
I found in a local art store three nice brown cardboard boxes about the size I was looking for and a little foam padding.
They looked a little plain at first but then I found some images, printed them and stuck them on.

Now they look a little better sitting in my collection certainly better than the plastic sleeve I'd left them in.

I've a few more items that I plan to give this treatment to as well, hope you like.
