I love "smalls" and personal items. I'm sure they will be difficult for my kids to sell one day but I get more enjoyment out of them than high value items.

Anyway, I've been after one of these for a while to complete the trifecta. I only found one at the Max show. But I now have the Pipe, the Stein and the Flask

Condition is very good for 125 years old but it does show some age.

This is a Pre WW1 example named to Company Reservist Lehmkuhl who served from 1896 to 1898.

Appears to be 144th Infantry Regiment "Morchin", 2nd Company. 144th IR also known as 5th Lotharingian from what I can tell.

I'm not sure however what "Morchin" means. I think some letters at the end have worn off and it might say "Morchin .e." with the empty space being a worn off letter maybe? Can't be sure

Caption should read: "Parole Heimat Andenk Dienstzeit" but again some letters have worn off.

Top sleeve marked Gebrauchsmusterschutz which is a form of patent protection. Underside marked DRGM 11959.
