Been years since posting, but decided to jump back into collecting after taking a break. I have a question regarding a cross I own marked DRGM and KMST.
The two Iron cross manufacturers of the First World War are KMST (Royal mint of Stuttgart) and DRGM (Meybauer of Berlin), where were they produced? And why are they marked with both names?
Hi,
Paul Meybauer's ww1 crosses were marked with his company coat of arms maker's mark.
DRGM stands for "Deutches Reich Gebrauchmuster" (German Reich Registered Design)
It's kind of like the US "patent applied for" stamp.
Meybauer maker's mark---
