    yes its a newish ribbon, got it for £35 in the end because of the damage, thanks guys.

    Certainly would have a place in my collection and for £35 a good price. I do love a cross that is a little bit battered.

    I think that this cross is possibly one made by Assmann.
    These crosses have a very distinctive bead pattern on the corners and this one
    seems to match .
