    I just came back from the SOS show and had a blast. I had the honor of meeting wrf member winterhilfswerk Book "Chrys" thank you again for the ribbon!, Dave from ww2germanhelmets.com, bob and owen from vintage productions, and many more people. But to the topic, my purchase from this show was a 1917 dated WWI 1898/05 bayonet. What do you guys think of it? Also i am looking for a nice wwi dated frog for it so if anyone has one please P.M me

    Yes you did fine it is a very collectable bayonet and in good condition that was a fair price for it again nice find with regards Sean

    Thanks Chris! Its a beautiful bayonet, the scabbard is kinda rough but the blade is beautiful! Do you guys have any info on the maker? Also the guy claimed it was unit marked but i dont know where he saw that, maybe the 384?>?

    Nice bayonet, got to love the WW1 Blades. I had one just like it but only just recently traded for a Sawback. Dont know about the 384 being a unit mark but you did well on price.

    Can't see any unit markings on the your bayonet. The marking on the spine is for Ludwig III of Bavaria.

    Fichtel and Sachs were not arms manufacturers apart from these bayonets. They only appear to have made these in 1917.

    The company also made motorcycles, bicycle parts, ball bearings and shock absorbers. They still exist today making car components.
