Unknown Imperial Skull

Since Aldo has sparked my interest in this skull. I thought it would be a good time to finally learn what this skull is all about.

The dealer which I bought it from said it was for ww1 German visors. It has prongs so it can definitely attach to something like a shoulder board/ Collar tab.

Any rough ideas guys? Thanks for any comments that lead for identifying it’s origin!
