Verdun

Hi fellow collectors,
I'm interested in seeing some original photos taken in Verdun France, WWI and WWII era. Mainly pics from 'fort Douaumont' and 'l'Ossuaire de Douaumont'.

Recently I bought two pics that were taken from these places, but they still have to arrive.

L'Ossuaire de Douaumont is really in my opinion one of the most poignant war memorials/'mausoleums' of them all. Chamber after chamber with the remains of fallen soldiers, German and French together. I'm afraid I don't have any pictures to share with you Ingrid.

Ingrid, same here I am afraid.....my favourite battle of the Great War, I have researched this battle for years, but sadly I have never visited, (it is on my list of things to do !.....my "bucket list") ! I have my battlefield guide at the ready !
I have a "Verdun themed" mannaquin in my War room, a Bavarian Eisenbahn trooper.....if any members have any period photographs I too would love to see them !

Ingrid/Steve, thanks !....Ingrid, I should and will ! unfortunatly my wife has just asked me if there is a beach and a 5 star hotel there !...(I would like to go camping) Oh Well, guess im going to have work on this !
