WW1 Imperial Steins

Amazing pick ups! The scenes on them are nicely detailed and the colors on them are nice and vibrant. One piece of advice I was given on steins for originality is that if you run your finger lightly over the scenes it should be "rough" or "uneven" feeling due to how they were made. Great addition for the upcoming bunker.

Yes, these have a texture to them as well as significant bumps where the hand painted embellishments are.

I've learned a lot about these over the last few days and each observation on originality has checked out as well as each warning sign on reproductions is absent. I wasn't overly worried however as the seller is a good guy who has been collecting these for a very long time.

Even got a fake or two among them.
And one with a special story.

The most amazing one is the one on the left.
A dragoon stein.
And it is "broken"!
But on a deliberate way.
I posted it before on the forum, need to find it back so I can reveal my sources.
But when a brother in arms was killed on the battle field, his tanker was crippeld so no one else could drink from it.
It was a ritual thing, the hole shows the triangle form of the lance peak on wich it was smashed.

Great collection and story on that broken one.

If I see a fake at a really cheap price I'll pick it up...just to use it

Lol....I do as well. But if it's coming out of a keg a bottle is not an option
