As a collector I am not all to fond of the reproductions...
However as a re-enactor I am happy that original helmets are not used "in the field", so to speak.

I think repros make excellent reenactment / living history helmets, originals should not be used, they need to be preserved

living history events are very popular these days, these repros are perfect for those kinds of activities, also for movie productions or war documentaries.

they are like Hollywood prop helmets, just for looks, and probably not even made of the same type of steel used to make the originals

I see nothing wrong in selling reproductions - as long as this is how they are advertised. It is when some scumbag starts passing them off as originals to the unwary that it gets a bit naughty. There were always be a market decent reproductions when prices of originals put them out of reach of poorer collectors.
