French cuirassier helmet 1872

Article about: Hi everyone, I just unboxed my new French cuirassier helmet model 1872. I can still smell the horse on the horsetail. Weird to see that they were used up until 1915. Like knights in shining

    they rely look like KNIGHTS OF THE 13th TO THE 16th HUNDREDS! a force to be reckoned with! FEAR.!!

    Quiet similar (form!) are stil in use by the Garde Républiquaine.
    Front plate bears the crest of Paris.
    Nice helmet btw.

    I just found out that this one was produced between 1912 and 1914. In that period the French produced these helmets with green paint on the inside of the front and rear peak. I suppose this one saw some action in the front line of the great war.
